Seismic Predictions Using Seismic Reflection Geometries and Seismic Attributes
Title: Subsurface Predictions Using Seismic Reflection Geometries and Seismic Attributes The analysis of seismic data can lead to predictions of subsurface lithologies. We can use reflection termination patterns, internal reflection geometries, 2D or 3D external forms and/or seismic attributes to make these subsurface predictions. Seismic observations and extracted seismic attributes are interpreted based on a variety of depositional models. Our first goal is to understand the depolitional environments of a seismic sequence; then we infer the types of deposits we would anticipate. Seismic attribute maps based on good-quality 3D surveys can help us make more specific predictions.
